She was a member of Benton Station Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Benton Banking Company and Benton Manufacturing, and spent many of her later years caring for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben S. Lawson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Norris; six brothers; three sisters; granddaughter, Edie Lane; and grandson, Stanley Guy.She is survived by her three daughters: Phyllis Guy (Larry) of Benton, Elizabeth Lane (Tom) of Dalton, and Sue Strange (Jerry) of Surfside Beach, S.C.;  son, Ben S. Lawson Jr. (Alisa) of Riceville; grandchildren, Matt Lane (Tina) of Dalton, Cam Guy of Knoxville, Meg Guy of Roan Mountain, Laura Lamb (Tony) of Riceville and Ben S. Lawson III of Conway, S.C.; and great-grandchildren, Emily Lane of Dalton, Eli Lane of Dalton, Hannah DeSherlia of Riceville and Kelsey DeSherlia of Riceville. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at Benton Station Baptist Church with Jay Edward Whittemore and the Rev. Ryan Potts officiating. Interment will follow in the Benton Station Cemetery, with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
